Some gurus will require that the "disciple" show some type of "worthiness" before being given any secrets to healing. It is the doctrine of many Vedic gurus that enlightenment only is transmitted "heart to heart." Therefore, an insincere disciple will not understand the information, no matter how much money he/she throws at it. On the other hand, "New Age" gurus maintain restaurants and teaching centers that are open to the public and information is disseminated.
